Peyia is a traditional village with a modern twist. It has a range of family run bakeries and butchers on most streets, there is also the choice of eateries, from traditional tavern’s to more sophisticated restaurants. There is a famous pub called The Jail pub, which was actually the old jail and retains its stone built feel; there is also a good choice of wine bar’s.
This village is old and new, with beautiful scenery and extraodinary views.
The church stands proudly in the heart of the village and is a tourist attraction which is photographed and admired by many visitors – but it retains its self as the center and life force of Peyia.
Peyia itself nestles high on the hillside above Coral Bay. Tourists regularly stop to admire the magnificence views from the church and the surrounding area. At night, these views are lit up for miles around and create a wonderful flying feeling, as you sit and watch the world go by.
